I havent watched the movie but it was so sad when u know who had that happen. YoU Cant shOW sarcASM THROUugH TeXt. Why is Jo-Jo Rabbit only in “select theatres”? Making fun of racist leaders should be mainstream. This movie is amazing i may say it could be called a master piece in today's time it was a perfect movie for today's soft idiots I also love how today's democratic socialists don't understand fascism is basically that just put national instead of democratic. A gifted writer, a talented actor, an intelligent and very humble human being with a quick wit and an all round nice person. That is the essence of Taika.

Faultless. Superb acting by the entire A-list cast. Exceptional writing and direction, beautiful camerawork, archival material used to enormous visual storytelling effect.
I loved every minute. Ironically someones probably going to find this vid and try to cancel the creatours for it. The audience has never been this quiet. Probably couldn't understand them. Taika Waititi's wittiness is off the roof, can't wait for Thor: Love and Thunder. Do the first 7 seconds of JoJo getting ready sound like the first 7 seconds of the song ‘Yeah by Usher ? Ahahha. Ah yes, the one thing Hitler hated, ends up mocking him years later. I saw the movie and it was magnificent film and that boy hell be something in near future believe that. “I need a cuddle” awe soooo precious lol I would cuddle the crap out of him lmao 🤣.

Youtube and Facebook were meant to make money. They're safer banning EVERYTHING. And I think it's ok. As long as they really do ban everything and not choose sides. Unfortunately, they do. What a good way to make people think.

Jojo Rabbit absolutely deserves to be in the best picture race right now, I have never watched a single film that has made me laugh and cry in the very same film and this one does. The acting is superb every character feels like they are there for a purpose and are all useful to the movie in one way or another. There are times where the screenplay is truly masterful as well as the visual storytelling. There is on aspect this style of storytelling that involves shoes that is absolutely brilliant and I would almost compare it to the red jacket sequence in Schindler's List in terms of how striking it was. When the film wants to be funny it is and when it wants to be sad and change the tone halfway through it does that so effectively. The humour isn't just dumb as well it is a way of showing how ridiculous some of the beliefs and propaganda of the Nazis were, which I thought was brilliant.
I do have some negatives with film though, whilst the tonal change in the movie is done very effectively it tries to be funny again midway through a sequence that is quite sad and it doesn't feel right in the situation. Also the film has about 10 minutes in the beginning of the 2nd act that I thought had some very slow scenes.
Overall, Jojo Rabbit is one of my favourite films this year and adds another yes another excellent film to 2019's list of great films. I truly believe this is the strongest year of film maybe ever and I hope you go and see this movie as this stands near the top of them all.

Hey, I'm only a minute into your video essay and I know I'm going to enjoy the content but I have to say the big bold yellow subtitles across the screen are very distracting and almost make me want to not look at the screen. I'm playing this on my computer on theater mode and I can't stand looking at the yellow typeface. It also almost looks like it has a red outline especially with the transitions and it's terrible to look at. I thought I really needed to tell you because it immediately makes me want to stop watching your analysis. Please use white and/or something that isn't taking over the whole screen like words on the left or right of the action. Further edit: very much enjoyed the essay. Do change the subtitles though. Also a spoiler alert, I should've seen it coming but I've watched a few other jojo rabbit videos and this is the first one to tell me the ending. Great analysis though.
